Fees

Dr Casey's fees are as follows:

initial consultation: $250 ($86.15 rebated by medicare)

follow up consultation: $130 ($43.35 rebated by medicare)

post operative review: no charge

Surgery fee

The fees charged by this practice for surgical procedures are based on those recommended by the Australian Medical Association (AMA) in their list of medical services and fees and reflect the costs  incurred in running a medical practice. The health funds do not reimburse the full amount of this fee. The difference between your health funds reimbursement and the AMA rate is our out-of-pocket expense. If you have any questions regarding these fees, please do not hesitate to ask.

 

Surgical Assistant/Anaesthetist Fees

In the majority of operations, another medical practitioner is required as an Assistant. The Assistant's fee is usually one-fifth of the surgeons fee for the operation. 

 (You will be billed separately by the Assistant and Anaesthetist)

 

Hospital and Additional Costs

Please check with your health fund regarding any out-of-pocket expenses for your hospitalisation. Your health fund does not reimburse the costs of some products that are used during an operation. If we are aware that such a product is required, you will be informed.
